December brought two unforgettable assignments at Estádio da Luz. Covering Benfica vs Sporting and, just days later, my first UEFA Champions League match between Benfica and Napoli, I experienced football at its most intense — both through the lens and beyond it.

Returning to Ginásio Clube Olhanense yesterday felt like stepping into a memory. It was in this very gym, six years ago, that I photographed my first-ever sports event—shooting from the stands with a Canon 7D as my son cheered beside me. That night sparked my passion for sports photography, and coming back now as a professional felt both emotional and full-circle.

My fourth time photographing a TransferRoom event took me to Lisbon for two busy days of panels, meetings, and nonstop action. From the Finance Forum at Palácio Estoril to TransferRoom Live at the Estoril Congress Center, it was a fast, exciting assignment full of moments worth capturing.

Last Thursday I had the chance to photograph my very first Europa League game — Real Betis vs Lyon at the stunning La Cartuja Stadium in Seville. From the excitement of receiving my accreditation to the roar of the fans under the lights, it was an unforgettable experience both behind the lens and in the heart of the action.

This week I was back at The Campus in Quinta do Lago to photograph the W75 Carby Tennis Tournament — my first time there since moving back to Portugal. It reminded me why I love shooting sports in the Algarve — great people, great energy, and perfect light for creating stunning images.
